Praise God! Today, at the men's Bible study, DJ shared his personal testimony and taught the Biblical model of marriage according to God's plan. The men were very receptive and asked many questions.
As a follow-up, I taught the significance of the cross and what it means to us as Christians. The cross is a symbol of celebration because Christ is no longer on the cross, but He is in heaven and wants us to be with Him.
I then presented the plan of salvation and gave the men an opportunity to give their lives to Christ. Freddie raised his hand. Now, a little background on Freddie. He has been coming to VBS each day and sitting in the back of the church with his young wife. They are probably 16 or 17 years old, if that. He has been copying down the lyrics to every song we have been teaching the children. After he raised his hand, I had the privilege of praying with hime to accept Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. It was a very special moment for all of us. I later asked him about why he was copying the words in his notebook, and he told me that he wanted to sing the songs at home and with his family. I then pointed out that he now has a trememndous amount of responsibility in his small community to shine the Light of Christ through his life. He also holds the responsibility of being an example for the children to follow. PLEASE PRAY FOR FREDDIE AS HE BEGINS HIS NEW LIFE IN CHRIST!
What a way to begin the day. We want you all to celebrate with us!
